Privacy Policy for Poppin’ Off
Effective date: September 22, 2025
Developer/Publisher: Poppin Off Popcorn (“we,” “us,” or “our”)
Contact: contact@poppingoffpopcorn.com
This Privacy Policy explains how Poppin’ Off (the “App”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you play our game on iOS and/or Android. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
1) What We Collect
We designed Poppin’ Off to collect the minimum data needed to make the game work well and improve over time. Depending on your device, platform, and the features you use, we may collect:
A. Data you provide
- Support messages: If you email us or contact support, we receive your message and contact details.
We do not create in-game user accounts and we don’t ask you to provide your name, address, or other direct identifiers inside the App.
B. Automatically collected data (through the App or SDKs)
- Device & diagnostics: Device model, OS version, language, country/region (approximate via IP), crash logs, app version, performance metrics.
- Usage & gameplay events: Session length, screens/menus viewed, in-game actions/events (e.g., level attempts, wins/losses), and general telemetry used to improve gameplay balance and stability.
- Advertising identifiers (if ads are enabled): Apple IDFA / Google ADID (AAID) when permitted by your device settings and platform policy.
- Purchase information (if IAPs are enabled): Transaction receipts/tokens and product identifiers (no full payment data—payments are handled by Apple App Store / Google Play).
C. Platform features you opt into
- Game services (optional): If you sign in to Apple Game Center or Google Play Games, those platforms may share a player ID and achievements/leaderboards data with the game, subject to their own privacy policies.
- Push notifications (optional): Device token and whether you’ve enabled/disabled notifications.
2) How We Use the Data
We use collected information to:
- Operate the game (core functionality, saving progress, optional leaderboards/achievements).
- Improve the experience (balance gameplay, fix bugs, analyze crashes, enhance performance).
- Provide support and respond to issues.
- Show or measure ads (if enabled) and prevent fraud.
- Comply with law and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal information.
3) Third-Party Services (SDKs)
To power certain features, we may integrate third-party SDKs that process limited data under their own policies:
- Analytics & Diagnostics: Unity Analytics
- Crash Reporting: Unity Cloud Diagnostics
- Advertising (if ads are enabled): Unity Ads
- Game Services (optional): Apple Game Center, Google Play Games
- Payments: Apple App Store, Google Play Billing (they process your payment details; we receive non-sensitive receipts/tokens)
We contractually or programmatically limit these providers to use data only to deliver their services to us, per their policies and platform rules.
4) Advertising & Tracking (If Applicable)
If we show ads:
- We may use your device’s advertising identifier and coarse region to serve, cap frequency, and measure ads.
- On iOS, we only access IDFA if you allow tracking in the App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you deny consent, ads (if shown) should be non-personalized to the extent supported by the ad network.
- On Android, you can reset or limit your advertising ID in device settings. You can also opt out of interest-based ads at the OS level.
- We do not track you across third-party apps and websites for targeted advertising unless your platform settings explicitly permit it.
If you prefer no personalized ads, you can change your device ad settings at any time.
5) Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required by your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
6) Data Retention
We retain data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above—for example, to provide the game, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements. Crash/analytics data may be aggregated or anonymized over time.
7) Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8) International Transfers
If you access the App from outside the United States, your data may be processed in the U.S. or other countries where our providers operate. These locations may have different data protection laws than your country.
9) Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights such as:
- Access / Portability – request a copy of your data.
- Correction – ask us to fix inaccurate data.
- Deletion – request deletion of data we hold (subject to legal exceptions).
- Objection / Restriction – limit or object to certain processing.
- Consent withdrawal – where processing is based on consent (e.g., iOS ATT), you can withdraw in system settings.
California (CCPA/CPRA)
If you’re a California resident, you may also request:
- Disclosure of categories/specific pieces of personal information collected.
- Deletion of your personal information.
- Opt-out of “Sale”/“Sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We do not sell personal information. If we engage in activities that qualify as “sharing” for cross-context ads, we will honor opt-out requests. To exercise rights, contact us at the email below.
To make a request, email us at contact@poppingoffpopcorn.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling requests. You can also manage certain permissions (ads tracking, notifications) directly in your device settings.
10) Do Not Track
Your browser or device may offer a “Do Not Track” setting. The App does not currently respond to DNT signals, but you can control ad personalization via your device settings as noted above.
11) Links to Other Sites
The App may contain links to external sites (e.g., store pages, support portal). We’re not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Review their policies before providing information.
12) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in our App or laws. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Effective date” and, where required, provide additional notice in the App. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
